I finally got through playing Devil May Cry 4, on Devil Hunt. It’s was quite a challenge. The graphics are pretty impressive throughout the game, minus Nero’s hand. When he used the Buster move, it looks too fake, if you take a look at the fingers. They could have done a better job with redefining the fingers. It’s pretty obvious they rushed a few aspects of the game. The first time you meet Gloria (Trish), she looks un-natural and so do the two antenna girl on the Bael.

There were three area’s of the game that i disliked the most. First is the battle(s) with Agnus. Agnus constantly rushes you and drains your health, so you have to rush around and continue avoiding him, while trying to take him down with his own weapon. You face him numerous times throughout the game, which is a nightmare for someone that is finding it hard to dodge, doesn’t have any Holy Water or Vital Stars.

The second part that annoys is that after defeating all of the previous bosses, on chapter 19, you have to fight them all over again during another dice game. To me it seemed like they ran out of options for the game, they wanted to round off on 20 Chapters, so they threw this section in for no apparent reason. It didn’t fit with the rest of the game.

The third is the poorly designed save game feature. You basically need to finish an entire chapter if you want to save your progress. Since it is based on the Playstation design, we have to deal with such a terrible save option. It would have been nice if this was changed for xbox users.

Apart from that, it’s definitely a game worth playing. It has a good story line, the characters and scenes all look amazing. There is a lot of replayablity left in the game, though most achievements seem very hard to obtain (no achievement whoring for me with this game). I would have liked to see more of Trish/Lady, maybe it’s something to be expected in the next release.
