Putting the Face to the Game!
Stepping away from my usual posts about new releases, I want to talk about a website I frequent often and want to share with the gaming world!
Gamer Tag Pics (GTP) is a vast social networking site for Xbox 360 gamers all over the globe! Since starting up in 2003, it has amassed numerous amounts of users from all sorts of gaming backgrounds together.
The one thing I love about GTP is the fact that you have full control of your own corner of the web – From profile creation, blogging and even the ability to write your very own game reviews for the website! With an extensive search engine, featured blogs, forums and the option to create a full HTML “intro” page to your profile, there really is a lot to do on the website!
Similar to places like MySpace & Facebook you can post galleries of photos, check out your friend’s “feed” to see what’s going on in their gaming/GTP life, poke around their Gamerscore more indepth and have a chat with people online via the forums/PM system!
Setting up your profile with GTP is a cinch – Just register using your GamerTag for Xbox Live, fill out the gaming-geared bio, upload a photo (or five!) and you’re off! Once your profile is complete, get to searching your online friends with the GTP GamerTag search engine – It really is as easy as it sounds; just put in your XBL friend’s GamerTag and, if they’re a user, their profile will be ready and waiting for you to add them! Be sure to send a message to any of your XBL friend’s who aren’t on Gamer Tag Pics and get them to register!
GTP is a great place to find new like-minded friends and is PERFECT for clans who are looking to recruit new members! Setting up matches, finding a buddy to run through a co-op game together or even just finding people to chat in a party together, is a easy as pie on the GTP Forums! Don’t worry – You do not need to re-sign up to join in on the fun at the forums, just use the same login and password for the main GTP site!
Oh, and while you’re busy registering yourself away on GTP - Don’t forget to add little ol’ me!

Sounds almost as cool as Pwned.com =P
For gamer networking sites, there’s not many that are really good.
I might check out GTP.
I’m on this, I hardly use it though. When I first joined around 6 months ago the layout was awful and the site coding was buggy. It has improved, but only slightly.
Starlight = absobloodyexactly right about this one. (Same story as you)
I would have agreed with Darth and Starlight up until recently. They have improved the interface tremendously. It used to be very busy and cluttered. Now i think they’ve cut back on the billion menus all over the place it isn’t too bad. As RiotMonster mentioned, Pwned.com is similar (i think they are bigger than GTP), though the problem i have with that site is that it is so dark and depressing. I don’t see why gaming sites like to focus on having dark websites. Lagtv.com is a similar site and focus on dark colours as well.
Idk Doll.. I’m prettyyyyyyyyy sure Pwned is bigger than GTP. The first thing that turned me off about the other site was the layout. Everything just looked so generic =/
I love Pwned, it’s seriously my home on the web lol and I’m trying hard not to seem like I’m plugging the hell out of the site XD Yeah it’s super dark, it looks like they are just trying to appeal to hardcore fps players with dark “bad ass” colors. =P It’s cool though… Despite popular belief, it’s home to a LOT of retro classic gamers and JRPG fans and a big MMO crowd. Over all, a great community.
Oh no, you misunderstood me. Pwned.com is defiantly bigger then GamerTagPics. It could be cause the layout it similar to myspace whereas GTA isn’t.
So, I’m totally late to the game on this one, but I just signed up with GTP. I’ll check out pwned a little later, too.
